By air – via Istanbul and Çorlu
As there is no airport in Edirne visitors coming from abroad or from distant cities can reach Edirne by road via Istanbul or Çorlu (changing at Ankara) airports. By road Edirne is 2 hrs 45 mins from Istanbul or 45 mins from Çorlu.

By road – Istanbul-Edirne route
There are two recommended routes between Istanbul and Edirne, the TEM (Trans European Motorway) or the E5 (D100) highway.
Edirne is 228km from Istanbul (Istanbul/Mahmutbey) by the TEM motorway route and 217km via the E5 (D100) highway route (Istanbul/ Topkapı).
The TEM motorway is a very modern and high quality road and for this reason should be considered as the first choice for those wishing to reach Edirne by road. The other alternative is the E5 (D100) road.
